The Change Of Heads In Banco Bradesco

The leading Brazilian banking firm, Banco Bradesco has got some head changes in its management. The firm got a new CEO who will effectively take charge on March 12, 2017. Octavio de Lazari Junior will take charge of the leadership role from the current CEO of Bradesco Seguros Group – the insurance unit of the company. He is also a vice president of the bank. Interestingly, the bank was in search of the most fitting candidate for the role since the current CEO of the bank, Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi, was promoted as the Chairman of the bank in late 2017.

Though Trabuco Cappi is continuing as CEO, the Brazilian banking rules do not allow a single person holds both the posts for over six months. The Brazilian bank has set a procedure of hiring internal candidates for the Chief Executive role for long. Due to that reason, everyone expected that the replacement of Trabuco Cappi would be any one of the seven vice presidents of the bank. But, the analysts of Brazilian banking industry never considered Lazari Junior as a favorite for the top post though he has the story of long collaboration with the bank. The declaration of new Cheif Executive was made by the bank on February 5, 2018 according to

Though Lazari Junior takes charge of the new position in March, he would not leave the leadership role of the insurance unit. Lazari Junior was contracted by the bank, from an agency, as an office boy when he was just 15. A few years later, Lazari appointed as the manager of the agency based in Sao Paulo. However, he decided to join the bank in the on-roll and started serving the credit and loan section of the bank from 1998. In 2010, he became the department director of the section. Within two years, he was included in the Executive Officers board of Bradesco.

Last year, Lazari Junior was promoted as one of the vice presidents of the bank as well as the Chief Executive of the insurance unit. His elevation is considered as the result of his hard work, vision, professionalism, and dedication, which he displayed throughout his career. On the other hand, Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi resumed his banking career with Bradesco in 1969 as a probationary clerk. He joined the bank at the age of 18 and worked in various departments in the initial years. His journey to the leadership of the bank started in 1984 when Trabuco Cappi was promoted as the Department Director.

From 1992-98, he served as the CEO of Bradesco Vida e Previdência SA, as supplementary insurance plan provider under the bank. In 2003, he was promoted as the President of the insurance provider, Bradesco Seguros Group, which is a subsidiary of Banco Bradesco. Since 2009, Trabuco Cappi was appointed as the Chief Executive of the bank and leading the company to many revolutionary business movements. Some of them include digital banking efforts, diversified product portfolio, highly significant acquisitions, and more. Trabuco Cappi is appointed on the boards of many governmental and private institutions as well.
