Roseann Bennet Adds Canines To Her Therapy Clinic

A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Roseann Bennett is the Co-Founder and Executive Director for the Center for Assessment and Treatment since 2009. It is an organization built on the foundations of charity in order to treat and advocate for people and families of every background. She founded the company alongside her husband Tod Bennett. Roseann earned her Ed.S in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seton Hall University, and continued at the school to earn a M.A. in Psychological Studies. She chose to create her organization after working with Contextual Family Services and Cambridge Behavioral Health as an in-home family therapist.

Canine Assisted Therapy

Roseann Bennett has introduced a new method of treating mental illness, as a new program in her organization – Canine Assisted Therapy. Bennett has many years of experience and constantly saw how many individuals needed outpatient treatments to ensure their therapy was working for them. She used her own funds to create the Center for Assessment and Treatment in New Jersey and has become a well-known Marriage and Family Therapist. She has made many types of programs at her clinic, as she believes there should be a therapeutic activity for everyone. This is why Bennett is pushing to integrate the Canine Assisted Therapy in to many of the activities, as dogs are humans best friends.

Dogs have worked alongside humans for millennium, aiding them in daily tasks such as hunting. Today, dogs are able to alert other individuals when their owner is going to have an epileptic seizure episode or aid them during periodic anxiety attacks. Roseann Bennett received the therapy dog Jack to begin using with individuals and families on their journey through therapy. Roseann Bennett assures the public that the therapy dogs will not replace the methods that work, such as cognitive behavior therapy for anxiety. The therapy dogs will be an addition to the program as a way to quicken the healing process. See This Article for additional information about Bennet’s one on one with IdeaMensch.
