The Growth Of Success Academy Continues

In 2017 the New York based Success Academy has been reported to have opened its 41 campuses and serves more than 14,000 students across New York City in some of the poorest served parts of the city. Success Academy founder Eva Moskowitz believes the way those students attending this charter school network are being taught by motivated educators has allowed the Success Academy community to become a major success that has seen test scores consistently remain higher than those achieved by peers across New York City; an all around approach to life has been taken by the leaders at Success Academy who feel they are trying to build successful members of the community in students during their time at the charter school and when they move on to employment or a college career.

Among the areas that are addressed by Success Academy educators are eating correctly, including recess in the daily schedule, and becoming involved in the community at all levels makes this a great option for building successful community members. The Brooklyn based Success Academy Crown Heights school saw fresh raw foods served to them during part of the day in a bid to make sure they were given the chance to eat and enjoy the best possible foods available; this fits in with the need to bring new experiences to the lives of a charter school network that sees around 77 percent of its students come from low income families.

At the Success Academy the day is not structured in the same way as a traditional public school, in this charter school system the need to take part in new experiences and include time for play on a regular basis is seen in the regular recesses allowed throughout the day. Another part of the day that looks to bring new levels of success to the students of Success Academy is the use of chess as a learning tool that has proven a major success alongside the need for a science based teaching lesson included in the daily schedules each day of the week.
